COLA, a national laboratory accreditor dedicated to promoting health and safety through accreditation and education, announces the appointment of Emmanuel Kenta-Bibi, M.D., M.P.H., MSMEd. and M.B.A., to its Board of Directors. Dr. Kenta-Bibi was appointed by the American Academy of Family Physicians (AAFP) and joins COLA’s board of physicians appointed by the American Medical Association (AMA), the AAFP and the American College of Physicians (ACP).
After medical school, Dr. Kenta-Bibi served as the Chief Medical Officer in his native country of Cameroon. He was the only medical doctor for the Ndu Health District, a rural practice in northwest Cameroon, for three years. In this role, Dr. Kenta-Bibi practiced family medicine, obstetrics, general surgery, gynecology and geriatrics.
Today, Dr. Kenta-Bibi practices medicine in the United States. He also contributes to medicine through various leadership positions. Dr. Kenta-Bibi is the chair of both the Patient Safety and Quality Committee and the Readmission Steering Committee at Middlesex Health, Connecticut. He is an assistant professor of family medicine at the University of Connecticut School of Medicine, a clinical instructor at both Quinnipiac School of Medicine and Yale School of Medicine, and is a faculty member at the Middlesex Health Family Medicine Residency Program. At the state level, Dr. Kenta-Bibi serves on the Connecticut Association of Family Physicians (CAFP) board and currently holds the position of Chapter President.

Dr. Kenta-Bibi is also the Chief Medical Officer/Vice President for Physician Services for Apple Rehab, a Connecticut chain of 23 Nursing Homes. Additionally, he currently serves as Medical Advisor at Chatham Health District.
Dr. Kenta-Bibi holds a Master’s Degree in Public Health from the University of Connecticut (2013), a Master of Science in Medical Education from Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine (2010), and a Master of Business Administration from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst, (2019). He is a Certified Physician Executive through the American Association of Physician Leaders (AAPL) formerly called the American College of Physician Executives (ACPE). He is also a Certified Medical Director through the Association for Post Acute and Long Term Care and the American Association of Post-Acute and Long-Term Care (AAPL).
