COLA is pleased to announce the appointment of Mary S. Nguyen, MD, FAAFP, MS, to its Board of Directors.
Dr. Nguyen is a board-certified family physician and Fellow of the American Academy of Family Physicians who has practiced in Castroville, Texas, since 2000, serving a rural and underserved community. She earned her undergraduate degree from St. Mary’s University in San Antonio and her medical degree from The University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston. She completed her residency training at CHRISTUS Santa Rosa in San Antonio and later earned a Master of Science in Medical Cannabis Science and Therapeutics from the University of Maryland, Baltimore.
In addition to her clinical practice, Dr. Nguyen serves as an adjunct clinical professor in the Department of Family Medicine at the University of the Incarnate Word School of Osteopathic Medicine. For more than 20 years, she has mentored and precepted medical students in her practice, helping shape the next generation of physicians.
Dr. Nguyen has extensive experience in family medicine, medical education, rural health, integrative medicine, and public health. She has also held numerous leadership positions with professional organizations, including the American Academy of Family Physicians and the Texas Academy of Family Physicians.
