On September 1, 2026 COLA announced the availability of its ISO 20387 accreditation program.  ISO 20387 is the international standard for biobanking, focusing on an effective management system for consistency, impartiality and competence.  COLA’s ISO accreditation programs conform to ISO 17011, requirements for accreditation bodies, and ISO 19011, requirements for performing assessments. COLA also offers accreditation to ISO 15189, for quality and competence in medical laboratories.
COLA has more than 35 years experience accrediting laboratories, and its management system has been certified to ISO 9001, requirements for management systems, since 2013. This makes COLA uniquely qualified to provide laboratories and biobanks with reliable, impartial and consistent accreditation services with an emphasis on customer service by COLA’s experienced assessors. COLA plans to add additional ISO standards to its ISO accreditation library in the coming year. Â
